Mason grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi, where he first picked up a racquet at the age of eight. Learning the game primarily on clay courts, he developed a strong technical foundation and strategic understanding that shaped his competitive career. As a junior player, Mason spent two summers living and training at Nick Bollettieri's IMG Academy. He finished his junior career ranked No. 1 in Mississippi and among the Top 100 junior players in the United States.

Mason went on to play collegiate tennis at Mississippi College before later graduating from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. After nearly a decade of practicing law, he returned to the court to pursue his lifelong passion for tennis and to share that passion with others. Drawing on his experience training in a world-class, high-performance environment, Mason works with players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners learning the fundamentals to competitive players refining their technique, strategy, and mental approach. His coaching style emphasizes sound fundamentals, intelligent point construction, and developing the confidence players need to translate practice into real match success.
